In continued efforts to protect the health and safety of our community in light of concerns about COVID-19 cases, no spectators will be permitted at IUP indoor athletic events from February 1 to February 13.

This action also reflects our concern over the lack of spectator compliance to our masking mandate at indoor athletic events. Other universities in PASSHE have taken similar action.

While we hope that spectators can return after this two-week pause, we will continue to monitor the situation on campus and make decisions accordingly.

Essential personnel, including employees, students, and visitors involved in game operations and media broadcasts, will be permitted to be on-site for the games during this time period.

Everyone working in this capacity are required to correctly and consistently wear masks. Free KN95 masks are available at the KCAC for students and employees serving in these roles.

This decision does not affect spectator or participant attendance at other events at the KCAC during this time period.

This is not an easy decision to make, but based on the information that we know, this action is in the best interest of the health and safety of our community.

While our student-athletes will miss our fans – and I know our fans will miss being on site -- live coverage of IUP games will continue. Please continue to cheer on our Crimson Hawks remotely. Information and links about broadcasts are on the IUP Athletic website.

Go Hawks!
