Executive Director, Gwen's Girls
Kathi Elliott earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Chatham University in August 2014. Elliott also completed dual master's degrees in Nursing and Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh in 2008.
Her career began as a victim advocate at the Center for Victims, mostly within the juvenile justice system. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, she provides psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and clinical consultation service and treatment through her private practice, Comprehensive Behavioral Health Services, LLC. Advocacy and giving back to others in need is a value that has been instilled in her by her mother and founder of Gwen's Girls, the late Police Commander Gwen Elliott.
In August 2015, Elliott accepted the position of executive director at Gwen's Girls, whose mission is to empower girls and young women to have productive lives through exposure to holistic, gender-specific programs, education, and experiences. As a visionary leader, Elliott is purposed to lead Gwen's Girls in becoming a well-recognized forerunner in the integration of evidence-based clinical prevention and intervention policies and practices that enhance the child and social welfare system.
Elliott currently serves on the board of trustees at Chatham University, as well as Robert Morris University's Sociology/Criminal Justice Advisory Board and Slippery Rock University's Criminology Advisory Board. She is the proud mother of two adult children.
