Health and Wellness

Our health and wellness services include counseling, assessment of learning and behavioral problems, health and fitness screenings, nutrition counseling and education, and diagnosis and treatment of speech, language, and hearing disabilities.

Center for Applied Psychology

Facilitates assessment, psychotherapy, consultation, education, and research for the local community. It houses four clinics staffed by doctoral students and IUP faculty members who are licensed psychologists.

Child Study Center

Provides assessment and short-term treatment of learning or behavioral problems, consultation to parents and schools, identification of disability or giftedness, and other services.

Institute for Rural Health and Safety

Offers driver education programs and first responder and emergency response team training to the community.

Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinic

Provides diagnosis and treatment for people with speech, language, and hearing disabilities.

Business, Industry, and Government Partnerships

These research centers provide intensive English education for non-native speakers, research assistance in a variety of fields, business training and consultation, procurement assistance, mine maps, homeland security information, occupational safety and health consultation services, and excavation, surveying, and other archaeological services.

Administration and Leadership Studies Research and Training Center

An applied interdisciplinary research and training center that supports sponsored research, program evaluation, policy analysis, technology transfer, and training.

American Language Institute

Offers intensive programs in English as a second language.

Archaeological Services

Offers consultation, on-site surveys, and site evaluations and excavations to assist in the location and preservation of sites and artifacts.

Institute for Cyber Security

Facilitates faculty/student interactions in research, presentations, publications, and workshops to promote the need to ensure security and integrity of information.

Institute for Mine Mapping, Archival Procedures, and Safety

Shares knowledge and expertise in archiving, digitally recording, and geographically referencing historical coal mine maps.

Pennsylvania OSHA Consultation Program

Assists private-sector employers in understanding and voluntarily complying with safety and health regulations enforced by the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

Center for Research in Criminology

Conducts and promotes scholarly research in criminology and criminal justice.

Small Business Development Center

Equips entrepreneurs with the education, information, and tools necessary to build successful businesses.

Provides noncredit private lessons, ensembles, and classes in music to students of all ages in the university community.

Literacy Center

The Bill and Judy Scheeren Literacy Center provides assessment and instruction for children and adolescents who need assistance with reading and writing.

Mid-Atlantic Addiction Research and Training Institute for Community and Behavioral Health

MARTI is a consortium of academic and professional experts in the fields of alcohol abuse treatment, domestic violence intervention, and related mental health issues.

Career and Professional Development Center

Provides career consultation and support to help students be active in their continuing career development.

Supports scholarship, proof-of-concept explorations, and project applications of digital technologies in humanistic inquiry.

Serves as a resource for information about and advocacy on issues relating to cultural diversity at IUP.

Offers instruction from the concept stage to the construction of woodworking projects.

Writing Across the Curriculum

Helps faculty members university-wide implement writing into their courses.
