Housing, Dining, and Other Facilities

  • Move-Out

    If you have not yet contacted us to arrange a time to pick up your belongings or to request more time to do so, please call the IUP Office of Housing as soon as possible at 724-357-2696 or at iup-housing@iup.edu.

    Support for Students Who Can’t Move Out 

    Although the residence halls are closing for the semester, if you need to secure on-campus housing due to emergency or extenuating circumstance, please complete the Housing Need Form available via your MyIUP account (select: Campus Services, Housing Services, Forms, Housing Need Form). 

    Dining on Campus

    For students who remain on campus because of emergencies, IUP Dining will take necessary precaution to provide food as safely as possible. An all-you-care-to-eat, pickup option will be available at the HUB during the following hours: 

    Monday through Friday

    • Breakfast: 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
    • Lunch: 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
    • Dinner: 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m

    Saturdays and Sundays

    • Breakfast: 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
    • Lunch: 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
    • Dinner: 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

    We encourage all students who are utilizing on-campus dining facilities to continue practicing social distancing guidelines set up by the CDC, meaning no more than 10 students should assemble in one place.

    Closed Dining Locations 

    The following dining locations will be closed for the remainder of the semester: North Dining Hall, Java City, Wallwork POD, Eberly Café, Putt POD, Subway, and (sadly) Chick-fil-A. 

    Regular updates and highlights of newly implemented IUP Dining precautions will be featured on the IUP Dining social media accounts. Please stay tuned for information about the following weekend.

    Facilities You Can and Cannot Use 

    Student Cooperative Association

    The Student Co-op will provide services at the HUB under the following schedule until further notice. 

    • Administrative offices, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Co-op bookstore has moved online. Curbside pickup of course materials has been suspended. 
    • The Ohio Room, the Susquehanna Room, and the IUP College Lodge are closed for the remainder of the semester.  

    Closed Facilities

    In addition to facilities mentioned elsewhere, the HUB Fitness Center and facilities in Zink Hall and Memorial Field House are not available.

    Access to academic buildings is also restricted.

    University Testing Services

    The University Testing Services office is closed and will reopen August 31, 2020.

    Open Facilities

    Campus facilities that remain open include the following:

    • Limited residential spaces in Ruddock Hall for students remaining in university housing
    • Hadley Union Building food court, open for meal pickup. See Dining on Campus above.
    • Health Service office in Suites on Maple East, by appointment only. See Health and Prevention.

    Getting Your Mail and Packages at the IUP Post Office

    The IUP Post Office will be open normal hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 3:55 p.m.). Please stop in and pick up any mail and/or packages that you have received. If you are not able to pick up during this time or if you expect something to arrive after your departure, please complete a forwarding card. 

    Visit the Forms section of the Post Office website and choose the “Form for Forwarding University Post Office Mail.” Complete the form, save it to your computer, then email the card to university-postmaster@iup.edu.  

    After we receive this, USPS mail/packages will be forwarded to you. UPS and FedEx do not offer this service. Those items will be returned to the sender if you cannot pick them up.
