IUP has suspended all face-to-face classroom instruction for the remainder of the semester and has transitioned to all online instruction.
All IUP classes—including internships and field experiences—scheduled for this summer will be delivered online. IUP camps and other types of face-to-face experiences will not take place as planned. See “Extension of No In-Person Instruction Directive.”
The university is not closing. Many employees are working remotely. Business offices continue to be in operation; contact them by phone or email. Only essential personnel are permitted to be on campus at this time.
We continue to follow Governor Tom Wolf’s directives regarding university-sponsored travel. Wolf has stated that there will be no international travel for official commonwealth business and no out-of-state travel for official commonwealth business unless determined to be mission critical by agency heads.

In response to the President’s Coronavirus Guidelines for America, IUP will limit the number of persons in face-to-face meetings or other events to 10, except when absolutely necessary to conduct essential business. Everyone is encouraged to use technology and other means to meet this guideline while maintaining business as usual to the fullest extent possible.
All daily tours are suspended, but virtual events are available. And, of course, you can always call the Admissions Office at to ask questions. We don’t want this situation to keep you from getting all the information you need to make your decision.
Please note that the deadline to make your deposit for fall 2020 enrollment has been moved to June 1. Also, IUP is waiving the requirement to submit SAT scores and final high school transcripts.

Check the central calendar for updated information, but most events have been canceled or restructured. All STATIC events have been canceled, as have all intramurals and other activities.
All remaining productions for the IUP Lively Arts Ovations series and all College of Fine Arts performances/events have been canceled for this season. Those who purchased tickets will be contacted about refunds. The remaining exhibitions and events for IUP’s University Museum and Kipp Gallery have also been canceled.
All conference activity hosted by IUP Conference Services through the end of May 2020 has been canceled or rescheduled.
The Orientation Office will be in touch with you about orientation rescheduling (if necessary) and class registration. Summer orientations will be held online on the dates for which students had previously registered. Students with questions about placement testing may refer to the HAWKS 100 Getting Ready course on MyIUP. More details will be coming soon. The return-to-campus bus trip for students who purchased round-trip tickets was canceled, and 50 percent refunds were issued. If you have not yet made arrangements to receive your refund, call Lou Garzarelli at 724-357-2590 as soon as possible.
