The IUP Symphony Band (MUSC 123) is one of the premier concert wind groups of the university. It continues to pursue the goals of individual musicianship, musical excellence, and the performance of diverse repertoire.

The IUP Symphony Band is under the direction of Zach Cheever. An auditioned group of around 50 members, the Symphony Band continues its high level of performance and engagement of a diverse literature. The Symphony Band has two concerts for the spring 2023 semester.

March 9: Wind Ensemble and Symphony Band 

  • This concert will feature works by Copley, Archer, Nishimura, Arnold, Ticheli, Bryant, and Puts.

April 27: Wind Ensemble and Symphony Band 

  • This concert will feature works by Blackshaw, Cuong, Bidenbender, Grant, and Mackey.
