The Opera Workshop Ensemble (MUSC 126) [002 or 012) features training and performance experience in opera for the singing-actor through a series of theatrical exercises, as well as the performance of various opera scenes. Performers will gain knowledge of basic opera repertoire, along with developing the voice. The ensemble class also covers taking instruction from directors, self direction, observation/critique, movement, warming up, and improvisation. The ensemble is offered every semester and performs at least one concert per semester. Auditions will be held at the beginning of each semester.
