5:30–6:15 — Welcome concert by IUP faculty and String Project teachers
6:15 — Walk to cafeteria for dinner
6:30–7:30 — Dinner on campus (optional)
8:30–9:30 — Welcome/Check-in
9:30–11:30 — Judging of individual chamber groups (may continue into the afternoon if necessary)
11:30–12:45 — Lunch
1:00–3:30 — Master class
3:00–4:00 — Gala concert
A festival to promote student performance of string solo and chamber music. Festival participants will have the opportunity to perform for a judge and receive feedback on their performance, to play in and/or observe master classes, and to compete for
a featured performance on the Gala concert.
String players, grades 7–12. Players of all bowed stringed instruments (violin, viola, cello, bass) are encouraged to participate! Solos and string ensembles of any combination are welcome. Collaborations that include piano are strongly encouraged to
participate. All string players requiring piano accompaniment will provide their own accompanist. All ensembles must be performed prior to the festival.
All Festival events will take place in the IUP Music Building (Cogswell Hall)
Registration opens in early February and will continue until the space is filled. Registration deadline: April 1, 2019. Register early to secure your spot!
