The Indiana Community Choir provides individuals in the Indiana region the opportunity to sing and perform great choral literature not typically accessible to choirs in a rural region.
It is also the opportunity to learn choral and singing techniques from a master singer, conductor, and music teacher.
The Indiana Community Choir will not be meeting this fall due to health
concerns and limiting the spread of the COVID-19 virus. We are hopeful
that it can be offered in the spring 2021 semester, but it obviously
depends on the situation with the pandemic.
However, registration for both online and in-person private
lessons is OPEN and will be ongoing and rolling throughout the semester.
For more information on lessons, please see the Private Lessons page.
For additional information from the IUP Community Music School, please see the IUPCMS home page, and for more information from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, please
see the comprehensive Coronavirus Information page.
$50 per semester, plus $25 registration fee; total of $75 for the semester; high school and college-age students pay only the registration fee (see our Scholarships page for funding assistance—high school students only).
Singers who match pitch; music reading ability desirable; age 15 (ninth grade for the upcoming academic year) and older.
Individuals auditioning do not need to bring anything prepared. Simply come ready to sight-read and to vocalize. All auditions for the fall are scheduled with the conductor. To schedule your audition, email the director once announced. If you’re unable
to email, contact the IUPCMS at 724-357-4565.
For the fall semester, all singers must audition, regardless of whether having sung in previous years. For the spring semester, only those new to the choir must audition.
If you have previously registered in the IUPCMS utilizing the online registration form and sung in the choir, simply email Jeff Wacker at email@example.com that you plan on participating again
for the upcoming semester. If you have not sung in the choir before, you must register in the IUPCMS using the online registration form.
