As an elementary or middle school math teacher, you face unique situations and learning challenges that don’t necessarily apply to other age groups. So why settle for a master’s degree in math education that attempts a generic approach to the subject?
IUP is proud to offer the only elementary and middle school Math MEd in Pennsylvania.
Many of our master’s candidates already teach in an elementary or middle school but wish to improve their instructional abilities. If this describes you, this program will prepare you well to serve as a resource teacher, as a coordinator, or in another
leadership role in an elementary or middle school mathematics program.
The MEd in Math Education at IUP meets the credit requirements Instructional Level II certification. However, the Elementary/Middle School Track does not provide initial certification or grades 7–12 certification for those who hold a K-6 Level I certificate.
Students enrolling in the Elementary/Middle School Mathematics Education MEd can take advantage of a convenient hybrid, which combines online and classroom instruction. As a result, especially working teachers can take advantage of a flexible delivery
to fit within their busy schedule.
