Noise Levels: Finding Your Study Area
To accommodate individual preferences, the Stapleton-Stabley complex contains a variety of seating and learning spaces, tuned for different levels of collaboration and noise levels. Tables in the library are marked with small signs indicating the
appropriate study type for that part of the library.
Consult the options below to determine what area will be best for your study needs.
Group Study Areas
These areas of the library are intended to be used for group studying and collaborative work. The audible level should be that of normal conversations. Loud or distracting noises are not permitted. You can find group study areas on:
Stapleton Building: ground and first floors (excluding first-floor computer lab)
Stabley Building: second floor
Group Study Rooms
These rooms are intended to be used for group studying, and have the same noise restrictions as group study areas. Loud or distracting noises are not permitted. You can find group study rooms on the ground, second, and third floors of the Stapleton Building.
Quiet Study Areas
These areas are intended to be used for individual quiet and silent study. No group study or collaborative work is to be done in these study areas. Cell phones must be silenced and conversations are not permitted. You can find quiet study areas on:
Stapleton: second and third floors (excluding group study rooms located on each)
