Policies regarding graduate education at IUP are printed in the Graduate Catalog. We recognize that, in some instances, it may be appropriate to seek an exception to an established policy. All requests for exceptions should be directed to the assistant dean for Administration, the SGSR.
The coordinator should review the student's request for an exception to a particular policy to determine if they are in agreement with the request.
The student then submits the letter/email of request to the assistant dean.
A review of the request will be made and the coordinator will be consulted for a recommendation.
A decision is made and the student will be informed of the outcome. Of course, the coordinator will be copied on the letter of response.
