Application for Graduation

    Early in the final semester of a student’s program, s/he must complete and submit an application for graduation. The submission of the application, by the published deadline, will initiate many processes related to the anticipated graduation of the student.

    Process

    Students apply for graduation online through My IUP. Information about the application, deadlines, and commencement is located on IUP’s Commencement website.

    The information must be completed accurately and completely.

    The submission deadlines are:

    May Graduation: May 1

    August Graduation: August 1

    December Graduation: December 1

    January Graduation: January 1

    Note: January graduation is offered to master’s-level students in non-thesis tracks. All doctoral students and master’s students writing a thesis can graduate in May, August, or December.

    Please remind your students if they are choosing to participate in a commencement ceremony, they must also RSVP for the ceremony. This is the second step of the graduation application process on MyIUP. 

    May and August graduates can RSVP to participate in the May ceremony.

    December and January graduates can RSVP to participate in the December ceremony.

    Note: Given the number of offices using the graduation application information, the deadline dates for submission of the Graduation Application are firm.
