Shijuan Liu gave an online presentation at the first International Conference on the Developmental History of Chinese as a Second/Foreign Language, organized by the National Tsinghua University, Taiwan, December 18-19, 2020. The title of her presentation was "An Examination of the History of Using Technology in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign/Second Language (Before the Computer Era)."
Previously, she gave two presentations at the International Forum of Textbook Development and Virtual Conference on Teaching Chinese as an International Language, organized by the Education University of Hong Kong, July 11, 2020, via Zoom.
The titles of the two presentations were "A Survey of Student Perspectives on Learning Chinese Online: Preliminary Results" and "A Survey of Instructors on Teaching Chinese Online in 2020: Preliminary Results." The presentations were based on the research project that she collaborated with two colleagues (from Texas Tech University and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University), which was partially supported by a research grant from the IUP University Senate Research Committee.
