Giseung Lee received his MA in Japanese and Korean language pedagogy from Portland State University. His research interests include language pedagogy, language assessment, and East Asian studies.
One of his primary research focuses is in finding correlations of passive patterns between Japanese and Korean languages. His current research project is on how to effectively implement assessments of second language learners’ proficiency using ACTFL
(American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages) standards. He is an active member of ACTFL and a certified OPI tester.
Giseung Lee has lived in both Korea and Japan, and his love of these cultures as well as America led him to study and teach both languages here.
