Here’s a guide to all the measures you’ll find in your Site Report.
Remember, you’ll get two site reports: one that shows all visits, and one that shows only external visits.
Here’s the important part: based on the numbers in your report, you need to take action to improve your site. Here are some basic strategies:
The best way to get more visitors is to provide content that interests them. So take the time to figure out what your visitors want and provide it. (See Best Practices: Develop Quality Content about Each Major or Program for more information.)
Your news feed is an excellent way to attract more visitors. Remember, news items can be distributed far beyond your site—to RSS news readers, Facebook, Twitter, display boards on campus, IUP Daily, and more. All of these placements can help you attract new visitors.
Get your link in front of people: make sure your website is referenced in all of your print materials, and include a link to your website in your e-mail signature. (See Promote Your Website, On and Off Line for more ideas.)
Look at your content analysis to see which pages have a high bounce rate, and then fix them.
