Robyn SchultzMajor:Communications Media

Further Degrees: Master of Arts in Student Affairs in Higher Education, IUP

Current Job: Assistant Director of Student Activities at Alvernia University in Reading, Pa.

My most enhancing experiences include a six-credit summer internship at Seven Springs Mountain Resort that I designed for my Communications Media degree: I created marketing posters and assisted in writing a resort newsletter to promote the activities available to guests at the resort, as well as working with two other employees to film and edit twenty- to thirty-minute videos for each of five weeks of adventure camp. I also spent a semester studying abroad at the American College of Thessaloniki in Greece.

My experience in the Communications Media program at IUP has given me skills that have helped me in every job that I've had. The writing skills, marketing tools, and management knowledge that I have developed continue to help me work smarter as my career path has developed.

The critical and analytical thinking skills that evolved through the reading, writing, and discussions in Core have set me apart from other classmates, candidates, and coworkers. The ability to see both the big picture and the small details is an asset in any career. Also, the experience of living amongst all my classmates in Whitmyre Hall is something that I will always cherish. Being a member of an entire community in a simultaneous endeavor resulted in laughs, memories, and bonds that will never dissolve.
