Students who achieve great success
Our students earn distinction across campus and throughout the nation. Here are just a few highlights from last year:
- Marissa Willson, a student in Anthropology, was selected for the Pittsburgh Urban Leadership Service Experience Fellowship.
- Rachael Smith received the Society for American Archaeology Paul Goldberg Award for Geoarchaeology.
- Sarah Grandinette from the Biochemistry program was awarded the prestigious second annual Kopchick Fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX.
- Mia Lenzi, from the Natural Science Pre-professional program, was awarded the Patricia Hilliard Memorial Scholarship at the 2020 Women in Science Conference.
- Nine IUP students in Mathematical and Computer Sciences earned Department of Defense full-ride scholarships.
- Vincent Thompson, a 2020 Mathematics and Physics undergraduate student, was awarded an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship to study at Rice University, TX.
- Susie Adams was the recipient of a Goldwater Scholarship, the tenth overall Goldwater Scholarship earned by IUP students.
