If you have experienced any form of violence, we strongly encourage you to seek medical attention as soon as possible after the physical and/or sexual assault. If you need immediate attention, please call 911 or go to the local Emergency Room.

During office hours, Health Service has trained staff to perform a medical exam, provide preventative medication and/or test for sexually transmitted infections, test for pregnancy, and provide emergency contraception. Our staff is available to help you through the treatment process and provide resources to assist in your healing.

The local emergency room can test for the presence of alcohol or drugs and perform a rape evidence collection kit that helps preserve legal options for anyone considering reporting the assault to law enforcement. Physical evidence should be collected immediately but can be collected up to five days after the incident.

Medical services are available regardless of the duration since the assault. If you have questions or want to talk to someone, call Health Service at 724-357-2550 Monday–Friday 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; after hours, call Alice Paul House at 724-349-4444 or the Crisis Hotline at 1-877-333-2470 24hr/7d.
