Important Information About PHEAA State Grants for Spring 2016

Pennsylvania State Grant awards through the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) are funded under the Pennsylvania State budget. Because the 2016 fiscal year budget has not yet been passed by legislators, PHEAA State Grant awards cannot be finalized.

2016–17 FAFSA Now Available

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now available for the 2016–17 year. For maximum financial aid consideration, submit the FAFSA to IUP by April 15, 2016.

New Income-Driven Repayment Plan Now Available for All Federal Direct Student Loan Borrowers

As of December 17, 2015, all borrowers with federal Direct student loans have access to a new repayment plan with monthly payments limited to 10 percent of your discretionary income.

Be Sure to Create Your FSA ID for 2016–17

The FSA ID, implemented May 2015, has replaced the Federal Student Aid PIN. The FSA ID will be used to electronically sign and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and other loan documents. If you plan on filing a FAFSA for 2016–17, please create an FSA ID if you have not already to avoid any unnecessary processing delays.
