Who May Apply for the PCA/ArtsPath Directory of Artists in Education?

  • Professionally active individual artists, artist ensembles, or companies (i.e., dance or theater companies/(troupes) may apply for inclusion in the Pennsylvania Arts-in-Education/ArtsPath directories.
  • Preference is given to Pennsylvania residents, although outstanding artists from other states will be considered.
  • Artists and companies or ensembles that intend to work in multiple disciplines must demonstrate their qualications and submit a full application to work in each of those disciplines.
  • Artists/companies selected will be placed on a statewide directory for three years, at which time they will need to reapply through a separate application process.

*Artists need not be experienced classroom teachers. However, they should be individuals or groups that have a passion for their discipline and are able to communicate to a variety of audiences.

 

Applicants will need to submit the following:

  • Fully completed application including artistic narrative;
  • A current rsum (two pages maximum);
  • Two separate letters of reference;
  • Work samples of a high quality that demonstrate professional level activity.

Online Applications Available

If you prefer, you may apply online at the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts website, where you will be asked to register as a new user. You will not have to complete this paperapplication, but will still be responsible for reading this Artist Application Information Sheet and following directions provided with the online application. Note that the online information about work samples is limited, so we strongly encourage you to send in work samples through the mail as described on the this Artist Application Information Sheet.
