The Smart Form used to create and update Personnel pages (sometimes called “Faculty and Staff”) includes an option to add people’s pictures.
The dimensions for a responsive image is 737 pixels wide by approximately 1,000 pixels tall (72 dpi). Anything smaller is considered “non-responsive” for this use. You need to resize these pictures before uploading them. You can resize photos by using Photoshop, GIMP, Fireworks, or other photo editing software. You can also resize pictures using an online service. Here’s more information about resizing photos.
Click on the little yellow box in the person’s section next to the word “Image.” Another window will open, where you can navigate to the uploaded photo, or upload it right from your computer or the IUP network.
After adding the picture, click once more on the yellow box next to the photo. The Picture Properties window will now open. Edit the alt text to the person’s name, then click OK.
Do not adjust the height and/or width! All photos used in the CMS must be sized properly before being uploaded.
Note: Image file names that contain punctuation will not show up properly on the website. Before uploading the image, be certain the file name does not contain commas, apostrophes, etc.
The last step is to choose one of the drop-down options in the Image Size/Use section. Select whether the image is Responsive (737 pixels wide; see info above), Non-responsive (less than 737 pixels wide), or, if you are not using an image, No Image.
If the page looks the way you want, submit it for publishing.
