We Measure Our Success One Student at a Time
Theater, dance, and musical theater majors must be accepted by both the
admissions office and the department. Departmental acceptance requires an
audition or
portfolio review. Each student will audition or present their work at a Fine Arts Day.
Prospective students with an exceptional academic record and a love of learning in community should look into the
Cook Honors College, where many of our students have thrived.

Programs of Study
We offer Bachelor of Arts degrees in three areas. Each degree offers both breadth and depth, allowing for exploration and concentrated study. Our interdisciplinary degrees offer flexibility across strong, nationally accredited programs.
Proudly Accredited by NAST
Since 1995, our theater programs have been accredited by the National Association of Schools of Theater, and its FAQ page is a good resource for thinking about majoring in theater in higher education.
We are a creative community where faculty and students teach, learn, and create together.
“The first day you set foot in our program, you begin working on yourself as an artist and begin discovering new talents and abilities by practicing within a professionally modeled theater or dance company.”
—Brian Jones, Chair, Department of Theatre, Dance, and Performance
