Associate Professor Nancy Pipkin-Hutchinson in the Department of Theatre, Dance, and Performance was presented with the Kennedy Center Gold Medallion during a virtual ceremony the evening of January 15, 2021.

Nancy Pipkin-HutchinsonEach year, the eight KCACTF regions honor individuals or organizations that have made extraordinary contributions to the teaching and producing of theater and who have significantly dedicated their time, artistry, and enthusiasm to the development of the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival. Most importantly, recipients have demonstrated a strong commitment to the values and goals of KCACTF and to excellence in educational theater. It is the most prestigious regional award given by KCACTF and is considered one of the great honors in theater education.

This April, Pipkin-Hutchinson will conclude her three-year term as elected chair of Design/Technology/ Management for Region 2 of KCACTF. Region 2 includes approximately 70 participating institutions from Maryland, Delaware, District of Columbia, New Jersey, Western New York, Northern Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.
