Building a sense of community in an online
classroom can be a challenge, but is an essential component for online student
success and retention. A panel of faculty, both experienced and new to online
teaching, will share methods they have used to successfully foster student
engagement in the online classroom. Participants can expect to leave the
session with a variety of potential
strategies for fostering student engagement in their own
classes and with an enhanced learning
community of faculty members who can provide support and answer questions.
