First designed in Fall ’07 by IUP alumnus Dijon Cole, IUP Day allows students to explore ways of getting involved at IUP.
In addition, IUP Day allows for each recognized student organization to increase awareness of its mission and potentially its membership base. As a result, students gain a clear sense of the IUP community and the opportunities available through the recognized campus organizations, clubs, and activities.
IUP Day showcases recognized campus organizations that plan small events and/or activities to engage those students who attend. In previous years, events have included a fencing display by the IUP Fencing Club, a cornhole tournament with members of Phi Kappa Psi, and a stepshow organized by the members of Alpha Phi Alpha. IUP President Driscoll will be meeting IUP students and serving cupcakes between noon and 2:00 p.m.
IUP Day 2014 is scheduled for September 13 and is being planned by a group of students from across the university. Together, they are planning activities, music, give-aways, food, entertainment, and more. Recognized organizations can register for the event through their CrimsonConnect page.
The event will take place between noon and 4:00 p.m. (Participating organizations should plan to arrive by 11:00 a.m.)
The 2014 IUP Day location will be the residence hall courtyard surrounded by Delaney Hall, Putt Hall, Ruddock Hall, and the Suites on Maple East. (Rain location will be Memorial Field House.)
