Additional Dates for Open Forum Training Sessions

Anyone who has not yet met their Title IX and Protection of Minors training requirement for the 2014-15 academic year is encouraged to attend one of several training sessions now scheduled for March and April.

Campuswide Climate Survey Arrives in IUP E-mail on March 17

A campuswide climate survey will be sent to all IUP faculty and staff and select students to explore perceptions of the institutional climate concerning interaction between and experiences of various minority and majority populations, such as gender, race, socio-economic class, and others.

Additional Date Added to Open Forum Training Sessions

Friday, March 6, 2015, has been added as an additional opportunity for employees and students to attend an open forum training session on Title IX and the Protection of Minors policies.

American Indian Scholars to Visit IUP

Jenny Tone Pah Hote and Keith Richotte, both of the University of North Carolina American Studies Department, will be on campus Monday, February 16, and Tuesday, February 17, 2015, to visit Anthropology classes and present evening lectures.

Open Forum Training Sessions: Title IX and Protection of Minors

Changes in federal and state law have created reporting responsibilities for campus employees, faculty, and professional staff in regards to Title IX and Protection of Minors. In support of compliance with these regulations and to raise awareness, IUP will host open training sessions for employees and students.

The Tau Beta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta sorority and the Office of Social Equity diversity peer educators presented “Does It Matter? A Discussion of Race, Gender, and Ethnicity” on November 4, 2014.

Reminder: Native Two-Spirit Guest Speaker This Thursday

Carrie House, a Two-Spirit Navajo (Dine) and Oneida, will present a free lecture and film on Thursday, November 6. She is an advocate for social justice, LGBTQ2, cultural, and environmental issues.
