Have you ever heard someone say, “That’s the problem with people today—they are just too sensitive”? What would offend you? Would a comment about your appearance, your family, your faith, etc. rub you the wrong way?
Ask 100 people, and you will hear 100 different things that might offend them; this is because we each develop an identity—things that become part of who we are. Quite often, most of us do utter things that unintentionally offend others’ identities, but it’s not uncommon for them not to speak up. We will learn three different types of micro-aggressions and how to recognize them in our lives and consider how to be more attentive.
