Dr. Staszkiewicz began his career at IUP 31 years ago as director of Institutional Research and Planning. He was subsequently promoted to assistant provost and then associate provost before becoming provost, during which time he also served for two years as the interim dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. In 1994, he was named provost and vice president for Academic Affairs, a position he held for 13 years.
After a successful 25-year career as an administrator, Dr. Staszkiewicz returned to the classroom full time as a professor in the Department of Educational and School Psychology, where he teaches both undergraduate courses in the assessment of students and graduate courses in applied research and statistics. He continues to be active in university service, where he has served as chairman of the board of the Student Cooperative Association, the Executive Committee of the Association of Pennsylvania State College and University Faculties, as well as University Budget, Planning, and Assessment committees.
Dr. Staszkiewicz’s research interests lie in the area of program evaluation. He has worked on program evaluations in such diverse areas as pre-school arts, schoolwide positive behavior support initiative, library dissemination via websites, and alcohol prevention programs.
