Helmut Paschold, PhD, CSP, CIH has been engaged in the safety and health profession since 1978, when he graduated with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He started his professional career in the safety engineering department of a regional worker compensation specialty insurance company, advancing to a manager position in a district office. After 10 years in the insurance industry, he formed a safety and health consulting company to work with a myriad of business in the El Paso southwest region. Paschold continued furthering his education by earning an MS in Industrial Engineering and later his PhD in Environmental Science and Engineering at the University of Texas at El Paso.
With a PhD in hand, Paschold entered academia full time in 2005 teaching and researching in industrial hygiene and environmental health. He arrived at IUP in August 2012. His research interests include indoor particulate matter exposure, whole-body vibration, and activity-based learning.
