    traditional and on-line environments. As internship coordinator, duties include identify regional employers to participate in coordinated safety projects completed by seniors as their final capstone course before graduation.

    Developed full semester course for SAFE 623- Advanced Safety Management (masters) when converted from summer concentrated course; revised SAFE 211- Principles of Construction Safety lab and lecture portions. Assist in the evaluation and improvement of industrial hygiene equipment and its incorporation into undergraduate and masters curriculums.

    Founder & President of Ergonomic & Safety Services (ESS). Responsible for building, training and leading a team of 54 qualified safety professionals and technicians in providing safety-engineering and loss control services to industrial and construction companies through offices in New Stanton PA and Philadelphia PA.

    Duties included coordinating complete written safety program development, employee training,
    industrial hygiene and documentation in union and non-union shops. Represent employers for OSHA citations, fatalities and voluntary compliance programs. Provide on-site safety coverage in refineries, steel mills, machine shops, power stations and large scale projects. Implement improvements in industrial hygiene exposures, LO/TO plans, confined space entries and fall protection plans. Conduct site walkthroughs, corporate/ industrial ergonomic improvement assessments and Workers Compensation cost reduction plans.

    Blue Otter - Facility Management Technology

    $170,000 (private funding) 2013–15

    Developing innovative new software technology geared towards safety and facility management for tracking, auditing and managing life safety, industrial hygiene and physical assets required to be monitored and documented under JACO, OSHA, NFPA & ADA regulations. Successfully completed field trials in Fall 2014 and currently conducting advanced field trail incorporating expanded technology with IUP Chemistry Spring 2015.

    Medical Marijuana, Legal Positives, and Drug-Free Workplace

    2014–15

    Complete research of primary and secondary sources analyzing innovations and advancements in the pro-drug industry as compared to adjustments and legal protections for an employer’s Drug & Alcohol Free Workplace. Research was presented at VPPPA conference in 2014 and is currently under revision and submission for publishing.

    Drug-Free Workplace Technology

    July 2010–July 2012

    Field researcher conducting data collection and analysis of technical software using Movement Analysis as a Non-Invasive Employee Impairment Screening Tool for Employers.

    Member of a Multi-Disciplinary Research Team- developing, refining and validating the reliability of
    this existing medical technology for practical application in the workplace as a proactive safety screening tool for worker impairment. Substantial quantitative data collection and analysis of voluntary employees showed that software did not reliability identify drug impaired workers as compared to traditional testing methods. Additional software research, development and analysis was recommended.

    Marcellus Shale Safety Curriculum - $ Budget Pending

    Part of two person team for IUP Safety Sciences department and IUP to develop curriculum,
    training and potential contractor certification program associated with employee and job site safety/ environmental management practices involved with this growing industry. Conducting research and field assessments to establish a working partnership to acknowledge and implement best practices for employee safety training and jobsite drilling techniques.

    Community Energy Plan Development Grant - ~ $40,000

    Jan. 2011–July 2012

    Member of multidisciplinary team to evaluate and develop an initial phase of a self sustaining green energy plan for an assigned Pennsylvania community. Responsibilities include research, technical safety advisor tasked with evaluating the potential risks and associated controls involved in a localized sustained energy community system.

    Fort Rucker Joint Training Safety Initiative Grant - ~ $ 15,000

    Part of two person team tasked to complete an in-depth analysis of the United States Army’s
    Civilian Professional- 12 (CP-12) safety training curriculum. Compare US Army’s safety intern course against general industry expectations and identify potential areas for improvement. Project involved on-site evaluation of course curriculum, interviews with staff, instructors and graduates.
