    SFC Shaun CollinsSergeant First Class Shaun Collins entered the United States Army on July 23, 2003, from Michigan City, Indiana and attended One Station Unit Training at Ft. Benning, GA as an 11B infantryman. His first assignment was to the United Nations Honor Guard Company located at Yongsan Garrison, where he served as a rifleman and team leader until January 2004.

    SFC Collins served as a team leader and squad leader in Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 29th Infantry Regiment, Fort Benning, Georgia. Next he served as a recruiter assigned to Narragansett Recruiting Station, Rhode Island Company. Upon completion of recruiting, SFC Collins was assigned to HHC Brigade, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division as the brigade small arms master gunner. During his time with 4th BCT, SFC Collins deployed to Iraq as served as a Brigade Battle NCO.

    SFC Collins was then reassigned to Attack Company, 2nd Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division, where he served first as a squad leader and then as platoon sergeant. As platoon sergeant, SFC Collins deployed to Afghanistan. Upon his return from Afghanistan he was reassigned to Indiana University of Pennsylvania Army ROTC.

    SFC Collins’ military education includes Warrior Leader’s Course, Advanced Leaders Course, and Senior Leaders Course, Foundation Instructor Facilitator Course, Small Arms Master Gunner Course, Digital Master Gunners Course, Antiterrorism Officer Basic Course, Observer Controller Academy, US Army Combatives Course, USAF Air Load Planners Course, Army Recruiter Course, and Combat Life Saver Course.

    His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal; Army Commendation Medal (4 OLC); Army Achievement Medal (1 OLC); Army Good Conduct Medal (4th Award); National Defense Service Medal; Afghanistan Campaign Medal (1CSS); Iraqi Campaign Medal (1CSS); Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Korean Defense Service Medal; NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 3); Army Service Ribbon; Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 2); NATO Medal; Meritorious Unit Citation; Combat Infantryman Badge; Expert Infantryman Badge; Basic Army Instructor Badge; Drivers Badge Wheeled, Recruiter Ring, and Gold Recruiter Badge with three Sapphire Stars.

    SFC Collins is married to the former Stephanie Copass. They have twin girls, Emma and Sadie.
