Orientation

  • Parent Resources

Find answers to many of your questions, interesting facts about IUP, and learn how we will support your student.

Through our interactive virtual orientation, you will meet other incoming students, as well as your student success leaders (SSLs). You will also hear about the offices on campus where you can get help with anything you encounter. You’ll also learn about the experience transitioning to college living and learning.

Incoming students will receive additional program details through their IUP email account. This is the official method of communication for the university. Please be sure to check your account frequently to receive information about your orientation program and other announcements through the summer months.

Freshmen and Transfer orientation registration is open. Visit MyIUP to sign up for your program. An instructional video is also located there to assist with this process.

For an overview of Orientation activities, please see the Orientation Schedule page.

  • Register

Freshmen, transfer students, and students attending our Northpointe and Punxsutawney campuses need to register. See the dates listed below for your program.

    Pre-Testing

All incoming students are required to complete placement pre-testing before scheduling classes. You’ll receive more information after you’ve registered for orientation.

  • Student Orientation Programs and Dates

Orientation is required for all incoming students, both freshman and transfer. During the orientation process, you’ll complete placement testing that will be used to determine your fall class schedule. Along the way, you’ll learn about campus services available to you and much more.
