We are all set for your visit to Indiana June 5–7, 2013, and look forward to welcoming you.
Indiana County is located just slightly more than hour east of Pittsburgh, with our region dubbed the “Christmas Tree Capital of the World” because the national Christmas Tree Grower’s Association was founded here. There are still a large number of Christmas tree farms in the area that you may see if you drive in.
Indiana is also the birthplace of actor Jimmy Stewart (1908–1997) and world-renowned opera soprano Renée Fleming. We will celebrate Mr. Stewart by having our opening reception in the museum dedicated to his life and career.
Indiana is also the home of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, founded in 1875 and the largest university in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. Your host for the conference will be the Lively Arts, the presenting and arts event promotion arm of IUP and the College of Fine Arts.
