Crimson Crazies

Fan Enthusiasm—a group affectionately termed “the Crimson Crazies” cheers for the Hawks.

IUP’s men’s basketball team took the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region championship last night (March 16, 2010) at Memorial Field House with an 87-72 win over West Liberty State University.

The win earns the team a spot in the Elite Eight tournament, to be played March 24-27 in Springfield, Mass.

Tournament MVP Daryl Webb tied his career high with 27 points and added 12 rebounds.

Julian Sanders hit five 3-pointers and scored 17 points, Akida McLain added 16, and Kevin Steward finished with 11.
