95! Nurses Score Big on Exam

The National Council of State Boards of Nursing program report from April 2008 to September 2008 shows that IUP had a 95 percent pass rate on NCLEX, the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses.

The national pass rate for this same period was 87 percent, and for programs similar to IUP’s, it was 88 percent.

“We’re very proud of our students that achieved this outstanding mark. Their hard work throughout the program is evident. We implemented a variety of strategies to improve our scores and exceed the national average, and we look forward to our next reporting window as well,” Lisa Palmer, chair of the Nursing and Allied Health Professions Department, said.

Approximately five hundred students are enrolled in the Nursing program.
