Get My Story: Justin

Looking toward law school, Justin Rossi believes that if you follow your passion and stick to your beliefs, you can make something of yourself.

Now an active member of the IUP Alumni Ambassadors, which is the student alumni association, and president of the Pre-Law Society, the Oakmont resident knew before he entered college that he'd need to mentally prepare for the new challenge college would bring.

" Northpointe allowed me to develop as a student," said Justin, who is majoring in the Criminology program's Pre-Law Track. "I left high school thinking that I would be completely overwhelmed by the pressure of college coursework. Since I did not live on the main campus, I was not bothered with a lot the added responsibility of living on my own in a brand new environment. Without all that pressure, I felt much more comfortable with my schoolwork. Once I had the confidence in myself, everything else just fell into place, and I owe it to my start at Northpointe.

"Northpointe can be the best start to your college career," he said. "It all depends on what you put into it. College is like a boomerang. Whatever you throw out, you will get back in return."

A highlight of Justin's tenure on the main campus, since his transition from Northpointe, was participating in Roadtrip IUP, which can be viewed on IUP's YouTube Channel. Composed of interviews with successful alumni, RoadTrip IUP received an award from the National College Broadcasters Award.
