Representatives of the Native American Awareness Council (NAAC) wish to share the following information about a case involving American Indians that has been in the court system for thirteen years.
A settlement has been reached with the federal government regarding the case of Cobell v. Salazar. American Indians will receive $3.4 billion to settle claims that have been held in trust since the nineteenth century. Read the article on the New York Times website: “Settling Indian Trusts.”
