The students started their visit at the Washington Center, an independent, nonprofit organization providing internship opportunities in Washington, DC for academic credit. During an evening reception afterward, students met and dialogued with 12 IUP alumni currently employed in the DC area.

On Friday, the group visited the office of District Representative Glenn Thompson and toured the Capitol Building.  During the afternoon, the group was hosted by alumnus Phil Carrai (MIS and Accounting ’83) of Kratos Defense and Security Solutions in Alexandria, Virginia.

The three-day excursion concluded with a tour of Arlington National Cemetery.

The leadership excursion offered the Business Honors students a glimpse of leadership across the nonprofit, governmental, defense, and military sectors in the nation’s capital.
