On March 26 more than 850 members of our IUP family joined together to change lives during this year’s #IUPGivingDay. Alumnus Terry Serafini ’61 generously motivated others to make an impact resulting in an excess of $158,000. The total philanthropic
impact on our community increases to $203,000 when Terry Serafini’s matching commitment is added. In just one day, we joined together to continue to take IUP to new heights!
The effort received the greatest response from our students—more than 685 current students made their gift. Our students are passionate about the IUP Food Pantry and motivated by Serafini’s generosity. Students supported the IUP Food Pantry Project as
well as scholarships and programs in their respective colleges. Student gifts continue to stream into the Office of Annual Giving.
Alumni, faculty, staff, parents, and friends got in on the action, too. Many took to social media to share news of our giving day using #IUPGivingDay. Seven individuals were selected as winners of various social media challenges. Each will have up to
$1,000 directed to the fund of their choosing.
The IUP community thanks Terry Serafini and all of our IUP Giving Day donors for their investments!
