University Budget Advisory Council Best Practices Project

The University Budget Advisory Council membership has created four subcommittees this fall to help identify revenue enhancement and cost savings strategies aimed at enhancing the financial health of the university.

The subcommittees may survey campus constituents as part of their work assignment. Input will be appreciated and important to the success of this project.

These subcommittees will meet again on December 10, 2018 (in lieu of the UBAC at-large meeting), and will be asked to report on their findings at the first spring 2019 meeting (to be scheduled).

December 10, 2018, subcommittee meetings have been set as follows:

Group #1 – Revenue Enhancement – External

HUB, Conemaugh Room

This group is working to explore what other campuses are doing to generate new revenue streams. They are also exploring what businesses are doing to increase revenue that might be applicable in higher education. (Bill Balint, Matt Baumer, Anthony Cancro, Alex Heckert, Lara Luetkehans, Barbe Moore, Chris Noah, Erin Fritz Wood)

Group #2 – Cost Reduction – External

HUB, Knowlton Room

This group is working to identify what other campuses are doing to cut costs and what businesses are doing to reduce costs that might be applicable to higher education. (Deborah Armstrong, Yaw Asamoah, Janet Guyden, John Kilmarx, Mike Lemasters, Randy Martin, Pablo Mendoza, Scott Moore, Ann Sesti)

Group #3 – Revenue Enhancement – Internal

HUB, Allegheny Room (A)

This group is working to learn more about what IUP divisions, colleges, and departments are doing to generate revenue streams in order to review best practices and determine what might be implemented in other parts of the campus. (Heather Andring, Dave Ferguson, Nadene L’Amoreaux, David Laughead, Rich Muth, Nedrick Patrick, Cyndy Srittmatter)

Group #4 – Cost Reduction – Internal

HUB, Allegheny Room (B)

This group is working to identify what is already being done on campus to reduce costs/save funds for the institution in order to review best practices and determine what might be implemented in other parts of the campus. (Sandy Beck, Craig Bickley, Clair Dandeneau, Deanne Snavely, Ramesh Soni, Paula Stossel, Mary Williams)
