On April 5, 2018, the Liberal Studies English Committee, the Kathleen Jones White Writing Center, the Writing Across the Curriculum program, and the English Department hosted the Second LSE Gallery of Student Writing Celebration, which celebrated writing by students in English 100, 101, 121, and 202 in fall 2017 and spring 2018.

This year, LSE students submitted 31 pieces of writing which were displayed in a variety of ways during the celebration: on televisions throughout the English Department, in frames, strung in the hallways on clothes pins and lighted strings, in memory albums, spread out on tables, and on metal stands.

Those who attended the celebration also participated in a writing activity scavenger hunt, which included writing six-word memoirs, writing advice to fellow students , and composing on the English Department's fabulous giant-size magnetic poetry wall.

Awards for best writing were presented to four students: Ashley King (Nursing), Heather Bair (Journalism), Kirsten Schlorff (Journalism), and Wesley Kundla (Biology). Each student received a certificate and a $25 gift card to
