When students arrived, assistant dean Kara Romance welcomed them. Students competed in an extensive list of events, workshops, and presentations throughout the morning in such areas as job interviews, emerging business issues, graphic design, network design, parliamentary procedures, personal finance, insurance and risk management, business law, client services, entrepreneurship, securities and investments, introduction to financial math, and marketing.

Later in the day students, advisors, and guests gathered at the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex for lunch and distribution of prizes. There was a basket auction held to raise money for the students’ Pennsylvania FBLA state project, the National Alzheimer’s Association. The students raised $658.

After the luncheon, the students gathered in the Eberly Auditorium for the awards ceremony, to find out if they would be advancing on to the state level competition in Hershey, Pennsylvania, from April 9 to 11, 2018. In total, 122 students qualified in their events for the state competition.
