Assistant Professor DeSoto-Jackson Presents at Smithsonian Latino Center Anniversary

Assistant Professor Rachel DeSoto-Jackson was guest speaker at the seventh annual Post Collegiate Seminar hosted by the Smithsonian’s Latino Center as part of its 20th anniversary celebration the weekend of November 18, 2017.

She was selected as a leader in the founding year of their Young Ambassadors program in 2010. Now she returns to contribute more to the program and the center.

The Young Ambassadors Program Alumni Network creates a community of emerging Latino leaders and life-long learners by providing opportunities for academic and professional enhancement and fostering exposure and access to various professionals and their fields via the Smithsonian Institution and its resources.

DeSoto-Jackson directs the Theater and Dance initiative for simulation and other forms of applied theater. Her Simulated Patient and Applied Theater Ensemble (SPATE) conducts simulations and leads applied theater performances to enhance learning and transform community at IUP.
