Michael Schwartz has three accolades in April 2017: a paper presentation, a play-reading, and an e-book edition of the book to which he contributed a chapter.

Schwartz is attending the Comparative Drama Conference April 6–8, giving a paper on George Kelly's The Torch-Bearers. Then, a play-reading of his one-act play A Punchline will happen later in the month at William Inge Theatre Festival (April 19–22). Finally, Palgrave Handbook of Musical Theatre Producers came out as an e-book on April 3, with a print version to hit April 23 (Schwartz contributed a chapter on producer Robert Griffith).

Schwartz is a theater historian, dramaturg, playwright, and director for the Department of Theater and Dance. In the fall he will be supervising a collection of student produced plays, some of them written by students, in the department's Acorn Project, designed to incubate student work.
