On Tuesday, February 28, 2017, ABC Transit, Inc. executives Todd O’Shell, vice
president, and Aaron Silverman, president, visited Phi Gamma Nu to discuss
the transportation industry. Their discussion included the contracting aspects of business and keeping
your sights open when it comes to choosing a career.
Working in schools and administration services for years,
O’Shell joined ABC Transit, Inc. in 2015. “Keep your eyes open and never overlook specific jobs,” O’Shell
suggested. “The
Transportation industry is an animal I never fathomed working in, and I enjoy
it every day.”
O’Shell also spoke on some industry
specifics. “We provide a genuine service that is built on relationships
with our clients, and we exercise all the inner workings of a normal business every
day,” he said. “The major courses students take in business schools, such as Finance,
Accounting, Management Information Systems, Management, etc., are all used
with full force within the transportation industry, especially ABC Transit, Inc.
We love working with people and providing safe, economical, and timely services
for schools to ensure education is something people can think about first, and
worry about the transportation last.”
O’Shell
attended Slippery Rock University, and then Ohio University; Silverman attended
Robert Morris University and Geneva College. Both men have over 20 years of
experience in the transportation industry and continue to make innovative
strides to their business and industry standards each day.
ABC Transit, Inc., established
in 2013, began their services to the transportation sector with just 30
vehicles. Those 30 vehicles originally serviced just 3 school districts, but
now, just three years later, ABC Transit, Inc. has tripled their operations to
nine districts. The company’s vehicle count is well over 300, and they continue
to grow rapidly and work to obtain new business.
