On August 1, 2016, the administration of the WEDnetPA training program moved to the Office of Extended Studies.

WEDnetPA helps employers provide training for their employees. Eligible companies can be reimbursed for two types of training—essential skills training (such as business operations, teamwork, and manufacturing fundamentals), and advanced technology (such as computer programming, network administration, and advanced manufacturing technology, and more).

Companies must meet employee, employer, and training qualifications to be eligible. Complete information on types of training, eligibility requirements, and application is available at the IUP WEDnetPA website.

WEDnetPA was previously administered by the Eberly College of Business and Information Technology for more than 10 years. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania provides some $8 million per year for this type of workforce development. Since WEDnet’s inception in 1999, more than 1,000,000 Pennsylvania workers have received training. The WEDnetPA partnership includes State System universities, community colleges, and other organizations.
