The university has begun the planning for a five-year, universitywide plan for future enrollment and retention planning, being referred to as the Strategic University Comprehensive Combined Enrollment and Student Success (SUCCESS) plan. This effort is being co-chaired by Jim Begany, vice president for Enrollment Management and Communications, and Yaw Asamoah, dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, and is intended to be a complement to the University Strategic Plan.

The work of this committee and its subcommittees will be ongoing and is expected to produce a complete plan by January 2017.  This is a universitywide process, and many constituents will be asked to participate, so, in advance, the committee thanks everyone who will be involved for the support of this important initiative.

Information and research being collected for this plan includes, but is not limited to, an extensive environmental scan; analysis of the university’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT); alignment of the university’s mission, vision, and strategic plan; building of the recruitment and retention plans; the creation of enrollment projections and goals; and a comprehensive marketing and communication plan.

The steering committee is comprised of the following members:

  • Jim Begany, Vice President for Enrollment Management and Communications (co-chair)
  • Yaw Asamoah, Dean, College of Humanities and Social Sciences (co-chair)
  • Mary Williams, Acting Dean, College of Health and Human Services
  • Michele Norwood, Assistant Vice Provost for Undergraduate Student Success
  • Patricia McCarthy, Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management
