The participants of the Leadership Indiana County program offered by Dr. Erick Lauber, Director of Leadership Training and Research at MARTI, are holding a supply drive to benefit the Pathway Homeless Shelter in Indiana County.

The Pathway Homeless Shelter is run by the Indiana County Community Action Program (ICCAP) and provides temporary shelter and support services for homeless individuals and families. The supply drive will be accepting cleaning supplies, non-perishable food items, toiletries, and other household items.

Donations are being accepted from Monday, November 16, to Thursday, November 19, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at BiLo Foods on North Fourth Street; and K-Mart, at The Indiana Mall, on Oakland Avenue. Donations will also be collected on Saturday, November 21, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at BiLo Foods on North Fourth Street.

As a state and federally supported organization, Pathway’s financial resources are dependent on the fluctuations of government budgets.  However, the shelter benefits from generous donations and community support. Leadership Indiana County, Pathway Homeless Shelter, and ICCAP urge community members to consider contributing what they can to the drive.

IUP student volunteers are also needed to help at the donation tables. For more information or if you would like to volunteer, contact Jackie Greene at 724-357-2131 or jegreene@iup.edu.
