The IUP Crimson Hawks Football team will hold a Military Appreciation Day at their 1:00 p.m. game this Saturday, November 7, against Gannon. All active military and veterans will receive free admission into the game with their military ID. A limited supply of hats, compliments of IUP Athletics, will also be available for military and veterans on game day at the George P. Miller Stadium Box Office. Families and friends of military and veterans will receive $6 off the general admission ticket price.

Be sure to come early for this special appreciation game! The IUP ROTC Color Guard will present the colors during the National Anthem. In addition, Wally Hurd, a World War II veteran from Punxsutawney, will host the coin toss. Hurd jumped into Sainte Mere Eglise on D-Day with the 82nd Airborne Division at the age of 19 years old. Please come to honor this man and all of our active military and veterans with the IUP Crimson Hawks.

The IUP ROTC will have camo face painting as well as Army Jeeps on display outside of the stadium. In addition, Team Red, White, and Blue will launch a special military giveaway for the Trace Adkins concert. All military will have a chance to enter to win tickets and meet-and-greet passes for the show on November 20 at 7:00 p.m. The winner will be announced during the fourth quarter.

The Li’l Hawks Kids Club, for Crimson Hawk fans 12 and under, is continuing to grow in size and benefits. Li'l Hawks will receive half-off admission to all home games and a chance to be the Jr. Player or Jr. Cheerleader of the game. New members will receive a free goodie bag of Crimson Hawk merchandise, courtesy of the Student Co-op Store and Zamias Services, Inc. We encourage all Li'l Hawks members to wear the free t-shirt they receive to every home game.
